Vvedenska Tetyana Yuriivna, Head of the Translation Department, Candidate of Science in Philology

In 1998 Vvedenskaya T.Y. obtained the Fulbright scholarship for conducting research in the US at the State University of New York.

In 2001 she got the grant for the summer course Cross-cultural identities at the Central European University (CEU).

Alekseev Anatoliy Yakovych, Doctor of Science in Philology, Professor

Scientist-philologist. He was born on the 5th of May, 1942 in the village of Navly in Bryansk Region (Russian Federation) in the workers' family. In 1966 he graduated from the French Department of Odessa's National University, philological faculty and was sent to work to Dnepropetrovsk State University.

Orel Maya Vasysivla, Associate Professor

In 1971 graduated (with excellence) from the Faculty of English language of Cherkasy National University named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky. She has been working for the National Mining University since 1990: from October 1990 senior teacher, Department of foreign languages, Faculty of economics; from December 2002 associate professor, Translation department, Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

She is the author and co-author of three educational handbooks (approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine): English handbook for students of geological specialities (2002), Country studies handbook (2002) and Ukrainian-Russian-English dictionary of blasting terminology used in mining (2004).

She teaches the following disciplines: Practice of English to Ukrainian translation, Practice of English to Ukrainian science and technology translation and "Practical English course" (home reading).

Kabachenko Iryna Leonidivna, Associate Professor, Head of the German Section

Lectures disciplines: Practical course of the second foreign language (German), Practice of translation from the second foreign language (German), Practice of scientific and technical translation (German), Practice of oral and written speech, Linguistic and cultural studies of the second foreign language, Introduction to the theory of translation.

In 1974 graduated from Dnipropetrovsk National University with a specialization in Philology, German Language and Literature.

In 1993 received the rank of Associate Professor. Published the textbook "German for Miners and Geologists" (approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine). Service record in the National Mining University is 33 years.

Upgraded qualification by participating in the 10th International academic and research conference The Strategy and Methods of Teaching Languages for Specific Purposes (Kyiv, 2011) and in the Germanists Seminars in Dnipropetrovsk.

Published 19 scientific research papers for the last 5 years.

Galushko Tetiana Viktorivna, Senior Lecturer

Graduated from Dnipropetrovsk National University, speciality "German Language and Literature." Her experience in higher education forms 17 years. For eight years she had worked in a Ukrainian-German joint company.

Since 2008 Galushko T. V. has been working at the department of translation of the National Mining University. She lectures courses in scientific and technical translation and German language: "Practical Course of the Second Foreign Language (German)","Practical Course of the Second Foreign Language Translation (German)", "Practice of Oral and Written Speech (German)".

Takes part in the international and national conferences dealing with the issues of general linguistics, theories and practice of scientific and technical translation, methods of teaching foreign languages etc. Over the past three years has published 6 scientific works.

For the period from 2004 to 2008 in collaboration with Amelina S. M. she developed and published 4 manuals in German.

The last advanced training was held: 2008 − Kyiv, Goethe-Institut, 2009 − Donetsk, DAAD, 2009 − Dnipropetrovsk, Goethe-Institut.

Gavrilova Alvina Valeriivna, Senior Lecturer

In 1992 she graduated from Dnepropetrovsk State University as a Philologist, English and literature teacher. She has large relevant experience in the field of interpretation and foreign language training, including that in Spain, with the corresponding confirming certificates.

She uses her experience while teaching Spanish and preparing other department extra curriculum activities.

She has been working at the Translation Department of the National Mining University since 2008 realizing the following activities:

- teaching the fourth foreign language (Spanish) as a practical course;

- being the head of a Spanish section during the work of Students conference Eurolanguages;

- being the head of pedagogical training practice for the students of the Department.

Nesterova Olga Yuriivna, andidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Assosiate Professor

Graduated from Dnipropetrovsk National University, speciality Philology. In 2005 received a Bachelors Degree in Ukrainian language and literature and English language and literature, in 2006 a Masters Degree.

Employed with Translation department of NMU as an Assistant Professor since 2006.

Published 49 scientific works, including 10 academic ones. Is the winner of the regional contest The Best Young Scientist (2009 1st place, 2011 3rd place).

Savina Julia Oleksandrivna, Candidate of Science in Philology, Assosiate Professor

In 2009, Yu. A. Savina graduated from Dnipropetrovsk National University named after Oles Honchar with a degree in Language and Literature (English).

Since 2009, Mrs. Savina has been a teaching assistant at the Translation Department of PHEI NMU. The same year, she entered a PhD programme to pursue a degree in 10.02.04 Germanic Languages at the English Language and Literature Chair in KNPU named after M.P. Dragomanov.

In 2012, she continued her studies at Kherson State University at the Chair of English Language and Teaching Methodology, where in 2014 she upheld the PhD thesis titled Cognitive Nature of the Comic and Its Verbal Realization in J.K. Jerome and O. Henrys Short Stories. At present, she is extensively engaged in academic activities, into which she involves the students of different years of studies.

She teaches the following disciplines: Practical English Course, Practical French Course, and English Academic Writing.

Area of expertise: text stylistics, cognitive linguistics, foreign humour translation aspects.

She graduated from Dnipropetrovsk State University in 1996 on the specialty The philologist, teacher of English language and literature.

From 1996 to 1997 she worked as an interpreter in a metal scrap processing company.<>/p

From 1997 to 2003 she worked as an English teacher at the Dnepropetrovsk assembly college and carried out language course in The Scientific society "Knowledge".

From 2003 to 2005 she is an assistant of Psychology, management and language training department at National Mining University.

Since 2013 she is an assistant of the translation department at NMU. She carries out workshops on the following subjects Practical Course of the main foreign (English) language (1st year of study), The practice of main foreign (English) language translation (4th year of study), Basics of business English language translation (4th year of study).

She is working on her PhD thesis on the subject The special vocabulary in the Russian advertising of home appliances and vehicles: systemic - structural and pragmatic aspects.

She has scientific publications on the topic of the thesis in scientific Ukrainian and foreign publications.

In 2010 L. Fomina graduated from the English Department of Philological Faculty (DNU after O. Honchar) and got Master's degree with honours.

In 2010-2012 L. Fomina as English tutor at DNU`s courses taught a group of the students to pass International English exam to obtain International Certificate. During this period L. Fomina became an applicant and passed three comprehensive examinations for the Candidate's degree, wrote a thesis (specialty 10.01.04 - foreign literature) . Nowadays L. Fomina is the author of 26 scientific works, including three textbooks, as well as the articles published in three international scientific journals. She has got a number of ertificates: Modern Arproach to Testing and Assessment in EFL, 2011; Broadening the Horizons. English Teachers `Workshop, 2012; 8 - hour training course for the examiners , who will check the OIT, 2012. In 2012 she was the examiner of the OIT regional commission (English: checking of compositions). At present L. Fomina is going to defend the Candidate's thesis in 2014. She has been an assistant professor of the National Mining University, the Translation Department since 2013.

In 2000 graduated from Dnipropetrovsk State University and received a Masters Degree diploma.

From 2000 till 2003 studied at the post-graduate courses in the field of Comparative and Contrastive Literary Criticism at Dnipropetrovsk National University.

Since 2003 Shchurov O. V. has been working as an assistant professor at the Translation Department of NMU. From 2003 till 2005 he was teaching English for students majoring in economics and since 2005 he has been providing courses in speciality for students specializing in scientific and technical translation.

In his work with the students of the Department he implements the innovative language and translation training techniques in combination with the advanced multimedia technologies and Internet resources.

Since 2006 Shchurov O. has been a member of the editorial board responsible for the publication of Collections of students scientific papers, devoted to the International students conference Eurolanguages: Innovation and Research and a coordinator of the Poetical Translation Contest (established in 2009) that regularly takes place within the framework of the conference.

He conducts scientific and research supervision on the students course papers in the field of English language and scientific and technical translation.

The issues of his scientific interest are: problems of the comparative and contrastive literary criticism, theory and practice of bélles-léttres, scientific and technical translation and problems of teaching techniques for modern languages and translation.
